Core Cool Systems Delivers Practical Solutions for Year-Round Farming Success.Consistent Production, Happy Cows: Core Cool Systems Masters Core Body Temperature MaintenanceThe goal of every dairy farmer is to have an operation where the rhythm of success beats steadily, week after week, month after month. Content cows thrive in an environment tailored to their needs, ensuring peak performance 365 days a year. During the cooler months, its easy cows are thriving, and your operation is flourishing. Then, the inevitable challenges of changing seasons hit, threatening the success you've worked so hard to achieve. As the first warm winds blow across your fields in early spring, your hard-earned near-perfection is threatened. Temperature fluctuations and rising humidity bring on the threat of heat stress, jeopardizing the health and productivity of your herd. The scorching days of summer are around the corner, intensifying the danger. Your cow's core body temperature rises, they stop eating, milk production drops, and the profitability you've been meticulously building begins to slip away. It's an all-to-familiar story that resonates with frustration and financial strain. At Core Cool Systems, we understand the toll these environmental challenges take on your operation. That's why, since 2009, we've been committed to:
The Core Cool Advantage: A Story of Success The heartbeat of your operation lies in your cows. Temperature stress impacts your herd's ability to maintain production, reproduction, overall cattle health, and comfort. That's why Core Cool Systems focuses on maintaining core body temperature and safeguarding your cows even when Mother Nature throws her toughest challenges your way. "Things are going slick the system is working great. The system adapts to provide the right climate for the cows and it's fully automated I don't have to do anything. Panel fans run for too long and too fast and they run at 100% capacity or nothing at all. Having the variable speed ability of the system that is managed by a controller automatically depending on the temperature and humidity in the barn is a huge benefit. The mist is the cream on top of the cake. When the water comes it on and cools the cows down even more. This is an added benefit over and above what a fan alone can offer." Our customers consistently share excellent testimonials of the Core Cool System's impact on conception rates. Imagine a summer breeding season unaffected by heat events. The reverberations of this achievement echo through your entire operation, setting the stage for years of prosperity. "The most significant difference was in conception rate. Our reproduction percentage was horrible before. We never used to be able to breed cows in the summer. Now we are getting most in calf on the first breeding cycle throughout the summer regardless of heat events. Our AI technician commented last summer (2021) that they were the only farm around the entire area that was successfully getting cows in calf. That makes a huge difference to our operation." Metabolic disorders, such as ketosis, acidosis, and hypocalcemia, pose substantial economic and operational challenges for farmers. These disorders often result in reduced milk production, financial losses, and additional costs for veterinary care and medications. Operationally, farmers face increased workloads as they dedicate more time to monitoring and treating affected animals, potentially compromising herd health and reproductive efficiency. Long-term consequences include a potential impact on cow longevity, necessitating more frequent replacements and affecting overall herd sustainability. Imagine a scenario where you no longer need to interrupt your daily routine to treat fresh cows. With Core Cool Systems, cooling dry cows translates to improved transition and fresh cow health, allowing you to focus on what truly matters – the continual success of your farm. "Metabolic issues like ruminal acidosis, ketosis, twisted stomach and milk fever just don't happen anymore. Metabolically we don't have any issues anymore after installing the (Core Cool) system the late pregnant and early lactation cows are healthy and performing very well. This is a significant improvement and has had a great impact on our operation. We have noticeably better calves; they are born heavier and they are outperforming their sisters from years prior to the (Core Cool) system being put in the dry cow area. They seem to hit the ground running." Let's Gear Up for a Thriving Summer in 2024 As we look forward and make plans for 2024, Core Cool Systems invites you to envision a summer where your cows thrive, you maintain winter production levels through the summer, you maintain reproduction rates, and your operation achieves new heights of success. Keep environmental challenges from casting a shadow on your operation's full potential. You are concerned about putting water over your beds, making wet bedding, and driving up SCC. Maybe you are worried about drying out your feed or making it too wet. Making a significant capital investment is always cause for deliberation. It is a daunting decision. We get it. That's why we are going to have our customer answer your objections. "We found the system (in 2018), we installed them, and that was the solution, immediately the heat stress pretty much went away. We did not see production go down. We aren't making wet floors; we aren't making wet feed. You can put fans and water over stalls; you can put them over feed bunks, you can really get a full bang for your buck by having water everywhere. You'll find usually that CowKuhlerZ (Core Cool Systems) will pay themselves off in one to three years. This little 25" fan will blow up to 70'. It's a simple controller, you don't have labour, you don't have to flip the fans on and off, it's automated, it runs, and you walk away from it. If you can put a system in that controls itself, that, for the most part, is maintenance-free, that's always a good system." (CowKuhlerZ I the original Core Cool Series)

P.S. You may be asking yourself, What is Core Body temperature and why is it so important? "Core body temperature represents the temperature of the internal organs and tissue whereas peripheral temperature reflects the temperature of the skin, armpit, or mouth. The peripheral temperature is generally lower than the core temperature, so it is important to understand the differences between measurements. Under thermoneutral normal conditions (not too hot or too cold), the cow maintains an average core body temperature of 101.5°F (38.6°C). Body heat is naturally produced during the ruminal fermentation of feed consumed and tissue metabolism of nutrients absorbed to support normal body functions (heart beating, standing, walking, breathing, etc.) as well as milk synthesis and fetal development in pregnant animals" Written By: John K.
